C. Clyde is a comic book writer and artist, a designer and a producer. In his career, Clyde has worked on award-winning design projects. As a long-time reader of comics, he has turned that skill set toward sequential storytelling.
Why “Clyde”?
“The Created by Clyde moniker is based on the generational impact of my father, Clyde, and his father before him, and how that relates to what I want to say as an artist.
Having lost him a few years ago to cancer, Processing is a long-form passion project that facilitates a conversation with a man that is no longer here, but very much still in my heart. Generational trauma, redefining masculinity and our relationship to death play a major role in my work. The creative work is a means of processing that pain and hopefully give myself a space to just be.”

About the speaker
C. Clyde is a cartoonist and comics writer based in Denver. Trained as a graphic designer, he works in the space where visual systems and political ideas collide, using the formal language of comics to take apart the images we inherit. He is the co-creator, artist, and designer of STEPPERS, and the writer and artist of Processing, an ongoing autobiographical comic about grief, belief, and the afterlife as bureaucracy, serialized on Substack. His work is available at createdbyclyde.com and on the shelf at select book stores.
